New Solenoid Valves for the LPG Industry KV Process Controls says that, in response to requests from customers, they have introduced a new range of solenoid valves for the LPG Industry.
The
KEMQ9511 valve, with an operating pressure of 0 - 40bar, was specifically developed for forecourt LPG tank installations, where pneumatically actuated valves were being replaced with electrically actuated valves.
The company says the valve dimensions were critical to prevent extensive pipework alterations to existing sites.
The
KEMQ9511 incorporates the following features:
- An EExdIIC T4 IP65 enclosure. Suitable for Zone 1 hazardous areas.
- A lockable manual override which is used during commissioning before the valve is wired up to the mains.
- A position indicator to signal to the controller that the valve is open or closed.
- Metal to metal seal.
- Flanged 316 stainless steel body, with the same face to face dimensions as the pneumatically actuated ball valve.
For new LPG forecourt tank installations KVPC have introduced the COAX range of solenoid valves in a range of sizes. KV Process Controls says its COAX range is also suitable for Zone 1 hazardous areas, and because of its balanced design it can withstand up to 16 bar back pressure (Differential).
KVPC has also supplied its conventional lateral solenoid valves on LPG dispensing pumps and other LPG tank installations.
The company says that until now pneumatically actuated ball valves have been the only commercially viable solution for isolation valves. The company says that LPG companies will no longer require a dedicated compressor and all the extra pipework and pilot valves that go with them.
